You are now viewing one of the most unique cars out there. This is Volvo 240, that I would consider a show car. I am the 2nd owner, and received the car in May 2002 as a gift from a relative. This car has many features including manual sunroof, power windows, power locks, rear defroster, heater seats, car alarm, and remote start. I replaced the battery and spark plugs and car started and drove perfectly. In the fall of 2002 I installed my 1400+watt audio sytem which includes.

3 Tweeters, 2- On swivel mounts along driver and passenger door, 1-between the seats on the emergency brake console

2 Infinity Kappa - 42.5i ,4 inch, 150 watt speakers

2 Pioneer - A6990R, 6x9 inch, 5 Way, 400 watt speakers

2 MTX 4000 subwoofer - 10 inch, 400 watt each, custom box

1 Pyramid Amp - 1200 Watt, 4 channels

1 Digital Capacitor- 1.5 Farad digital capacitor

Installed thicker cables in the engine, from parts like alternator, battery and the starter

(I just upgraded my cd player to mp3 player, and will be keeping the cd player but will leave in until car is sold, so you can hear/feel the sound system)

I replaced 3 of the 4 tires when I bought the car (the 4th was 95%new) and since then Ive had 2 flat tires. All 4 tires have years of life left so theres no need to change them. Last year I noticed a small hole in the tailpipe behind the right tire. I then bought www.ipdusa.com 2 1/4" catback sport exhaust system, and a new catalytic converter. Then 4 months later I had a louder 3AA Racing chrome muffler installed. For the exterior I also installed 2 new lenses corners for the front turn signals/park lights, 2 new circuit boards for the back tail-lights, and bought a new power antennae. I had a brake drum replaced, all 4 brake pads changed, put a new distributor carp, water pump, fuel filter, fuel regulator, belts, K&N Replacement performance air filer, and alternator installed between last summer and this summer. Earlier in the spring I installed new shocks, struts, tie, bushings, and emergency brakes. Everything in the lighting of the car works (turn signal, headlight, hazard, headlight,high-beam etc.) except for the reverse lights. I bought a very bright pair of Hyper-white headlights, and took out the orange tint from the park bulb light. I then changed the orange bulb to a white bulb so the park light have a nice white glow. I also took out the stock winshield washers, and installed chrome-blue lighted ones. I disconnected the winshield wiper lights, and the cables are still there if you want to reconnect them.

Now for the interior. I installed 4, 15" blue neon tubes that can pulse to the music/stay on, a 6 feet of blue/turqoiuse neon wire along the top of the dash,& a set of blue light up dice. All of this is connected to the cigarette lighter - to 4, and 3 way cigarette adapter behind the dash. The seats are blue and in great condition, but the driver and back seat have a small cigarette hole. There is a set of 4-Spiderman floor mats, and spiderman wheel cover. I started painting the interior, did the front 2 doors black/beige, and some of the dash in blue. I replaced the glove compartment, and dome light with blue bulbs. The beige carpet still remains, but is very clean with no stains. I put blue metallic door locks on to replace the old worn ones. I tinted the back window 20%, rear-drivers side window 20%, and the front passenger side 35%. Last fall I had a remote start, and car alarm installed (needs new siren , i cut the wire because kept going off when rebuilt engine new ones are 6.99 on ebay). The keyless entry could not be installed, because I didn't have the required actuator needed. The remote start stays on for a standard 10 minutes. You can also adjust the sensativity of the alarm, so it fits your taste. Put in a new EverStart battery 2 weeks (10/13/04)ago when my battery died.Expection/Emissions are good until 6/05

Vehicle Condition

This car starts, drives, runs, and looks excellent. If you need a everyday car no matter the distance you have your car. City/Highway driving is all the same to this car. The car was painted a beautiful metallic blue in the summer of 2002, then 3 weeks ago (10/9/04) we recoated the front hood and few other places for a better shine. There are smudges & knicks that you wont see unless, you know about it before. Like all cars there are a few minor problems which include:

*Odometer broke a month after i got the car at 211,138 and is now stuck at 211,164(It broke when I reset the bottom one to check the mileage, my guess is needle broke which is common) Everything else works like speedometer, rpm, engine temp, and gas.

*The emergency brake still doesnt work,(never did) we tried installed new emergency brakes a few months ago but never got it to work.

*The back right window cant be controlled except from the drivers seat

*The back drivers side seatbelt needs a new spring, it does not retract itself when taken off.

*Theres a faint clicking coming from the back right wheel, I think its related to the e-brake not working. (I didnt worry about it because car drives fine and I only hear it when I turn music off)

*The a/c comes on but is room temperature, the heater on the other hand works perfectly
*Oil light stays on when under 1700 rpm.
*Needs drivers side tie rod to stop slight vibration

This car was always treated with respect, and care. Always kept clean, liquids, and filters changed at their correct times. Ive always put premium/(now)mid-grade gas in the car since ive bought it which also keep it clean and run strong. This car has never been in any accidents and the exterior is in factory condition.

Recommendations:

To bring the car to 100%, All you need to do is fix odometer, rear window control for rear passenger, adjust e-brake (new ones are in) rear seatbelt spring, a/c fix (unless your like me and just put windows down) and install rear strut boots because its the only suspension related part I didnt replace.

Winning bidder will receive everything except the cd/MP3 player, and license plate(CEDROCK). At 211,164 miles this car drives new and I know it has many years ahead of it. You will never see a car as unique as this, so dont let this once in a lifetime offer slip by.

EDIT! 11/24/04

Blew 3rd cylinder first wkend of november, and over past 3 weeks spent over $600 on parts, $300 on diagnostic/few repairs. The car is now as good as a new car, it now has a REBUILT ENGINE!

Installed gaskets everywhere from oil pan up to top of engine. Any gasket you name we changed, pistons have new rings, fuel injectors cleaned out, EVERY gasket was changed. We also repained the bottom of the engine(red part), so now it looks like new. This car is good for another 100,000 easily. You will not find a healthier volvo engine than this one. Spent over $1000 on new parts/diagnostic/repairs and it was well worth it. Oil leak has almost stopped, and ride is much smoother.
